New Xbox and Kinect!

So some cool things have happened and some not so cool things lol.

Not cool: My old Xbox which I bought in 2010 died on me....no it wasn't the red ring of death, it was the fact that the disc tray wouldn't open up.  The middle of the power button kept on flashing green rapidly, and when you pressed the disc eject button it wouldn't open.  Of course it had to do this when I was playing a game!

My boyfriend actually ended up taking apart the entire Xbox to get out my game for me (Enslaved, in case you were wondering) and after that it wasn't worth while to put it back together again, lol. So I was without an Xbox for a week, but it wasn't bad, cause I could use Will's Xbox if I really wanted to. It all worked out in the end, as he had been talking for awhile about getting a new Xbox Slim so since he got paid that coming Friday, he picked up the Xbox 360 Slim 250GB with Kinect Bundle from EB Games.  It came with three games, not the one seen in the link! We got Kinect Sports, Kinect Adventure Time, and a downloadable version of Dance Central 2, so all in all, very good value for $399.00.

We picked up a hard drive transfer cable from Walmart afterwards, and we were good to go!  He gave me his Xbox 360 Elite that is in very good shape, and I put my hard drive on it, and then we set up both our consoles.  Of course we had to try out the kinect that night!

Speaking of the kinect, I have got to say, I was playing it every day all last week for at least 2 hours a day, and man, was I ever sore! The thing really does give you a good workout. :)  Gotta buy more exercise games for it or maybe rent them first so I know whether they're good or not.

Speaking of renting games, do you know how hard it is to find a good game rental place? There are no Blockbusters around anymore, and Rogers Plus stores don't offer movie and game rentals anymore.  We looked for an online option that accepts paypal (as we don't have credit cards) and finally we found IRMG (irentmygames.ca) working out of British Columbia which takes paypal and sends you games every month!  Service is good so far, there's different pricing plans available and they have a whole bunch of games, including new games! I already put in a request for Dead Space 3 lol, as I have to try it before I buy it.  I love the Dead Space games but this one looks different.

Well we went shopping again yesterday and Will picked up Kinect Sports 2.  He was looking for Game Party in Motion, but this EB games didn't have it.  We'll probably play it later today as he ended up having to go in to work today to help out.  That's okay, I can play Silent Hill: Downpour, which is the second game I received from the game rental service so far.  The first one was Darksiders, and I definitely want to buy that now.

Well all this talking about video games has made me want to play them, lol.  Gotta go! :)
